I see SQUARES at work.
Back home, I see more SQUARES.
Now, I see everyone as SQUARISH.
“Nah, I kid.”
Another week gone, I can’t believe I played sports thrice this week. And it’s gonna be my 6th week for IAP! That’s fast! Hohoho…October is the month!

Thou shall be mine this coming weekend! Wahaha!
Time to update a bit…
2nd week in another department, yes I think I’ve gotten used to the place now (though I still very much prefer the previous department). Initially, I was tasked to do with some jobs which I find it terribly ‘robotic’ (is that how engineers work? =X ) - just clicking everywhere according what is stated. Eventually, I was given more interesting tasks to do (at the same time getting busier too). That’s better, at least I get to apply what I’ve learnt in school for work purposes. So it isn’t that bad now. I’m wondering if I still have to chance to go back to the previous department, I like the atmosphere there so much more.
Woots! I’m loving our weekly ’sports meet’, and OMG…the auntie at STTA recognised us, and remembered how many courts/hours we want to book already. LOL! Had a few matches yesterday and I only won one of them, that makes me the 2nd runner-up for the day. HAHAHA! =P Now my right arm ah…sng yi zhi~
I was told that my attitude was very hostile this morning. I think I really was, but rather towards the whole situation rather than someone. Quite pissed off sometimes to be bothered about such things, but I wish I can ignore those and treat it as nothing is happening. Duh!

Players give nod to sexing up table tennis
Maria Sharapova’s dresses may never make an appearance, nor the Williams sisters’ bling, but table tennis is at least trying to sex up its sport. Some women paddlers gave a nod of approval this week to suggestions from a senior governing body official to wear skirts during matches to make their game more stylish in an attempt to pull in the crowds.”We are trying to push the players to use skirts and also nicer shirts, not the shirts that are made for men, but ones with more curves,” International Table Tennis Federation vice-president Claude Bergeret said.
With loose-fitting shorts and baggy shirts the usual attire, table tennis, mostly played in bland gymnasiums around the world, has never had the glamor of women’s tennis nor the sex appeal of beach volleyball.
Wang Chen of the United States, who used to play for China before moving to New York eight years ago, said some players were already moving to skirts.
“Some players are already wearing skirts, I think it’s a good idea, the game (already) looks more beautiful than before,” said Wang.
“I think women should wear dresses like tennis players,” the 34-year-old added. “I think our outfits are so boring, not sexy.”
Wang said sexing up the uniforms would draw the crowds.
Japan’s Ai Fukuhara is one player already taking the initiative, opting for a “skort” - a tight skirt with cycling shorts underneath - for her round-of-16 match Thursday against China’s Zhang Yining, who wore black shorts and shirt with a striking yellow dragon printed on the front.
Plans to sex-up the image of a sport, which is an obsession in Asia but associated with damp, community halls and youth clubs in the west, are nothing new.
At the 2007 Women’s World Cup in Chengdu, a range of sleek table tennis dresses were shown off with top fashion designer Lu Kun called in to handle the design.
“Although the skirts are just a small part of the changes, they may spark a revolution by changing the image of table tennis,” explained Steve Daiton, the Director of the ITTF Asia Office.
“It might be a revolution if women paddlers wear skirts during games just like tennis and badminton players, which will definitely help win back the lost interest in the game.”
Not all fans are supportive of the idea.
“Don’t get me wrong - as a healthy red-blooded male I’m all in favor of table tennis women wearing more attractive clothes,” wrote one blogger on a table tennis fan website.
“But I’m not in favor of them being pushed or coerced into wearing outfits they aren’t comfortable to play in. And how about the men? Why not bring in compulsory lycra bike pants instead of the baggy shorts many men wear currently?
“I’m sure our female audience would appreciate it. And don’t forget the umpires and referees - a little black and white striped skintight number with sequins would surely boost ratings.”
I think it’s nonsense lah. I don’t think wearing skirts during matches ’stylize’ the game. OMG, imagine one day if Guo Yue appears in skirt to play, I’ll laugh like mad.
It was really fun at work today, I don’t know why. We didn’t do much serious work. Had “sandwich party” and played Wii in the pantry during lunch.
More importantly…
Happy 1st Anniversary to Metamorphosis!
Wow wow wow! Last year on this day, I got hooked, just after this line was said, “xiong shou shi kuai dao shou“. COOOL SHIT! The uber icy cold An Xiaoqian! We still can’t get enough!
Things to update before I forget…
On “Long Goose Day”, I went to ECP for 2 hours of cycling with the YZUnlimited peeps. Wow, I haven’t cycle for a very long time, and I don’t think I’ve ever cycled almost continuously for 2 hours. Tiring + butt pain, but it was all FUN!
Following by a mouthful of ice cream at Gelare, we went to NTUC to buy some fruits for Queen who injured her knees. I think it was quite hilarious when 7 of us were sitting outside Queen’s house as she wasn’t at home. Received lots of stares from drivers and passers-by during the half an hour wait.
After the visit, we went to have our dinner at Popeyes in airport’s T3. You can really see that we were seriously starving like mad then, because even the most talkative person was quiet. Definitely the most silent dinner with the bunch of them so far. Hahaha!
By the time I went home, my thighs felt very tight and I had difficulty walking at my usual pace and could not bend my legs. Jialat. Fortunately the next morning, there wasn’t any aches anymore. Phew~ I wouldn’t want to be a bai kah again.
This coming weekend - Badminton? Table tennis? Wheee!
TODAY…
I wasn’t in the mood to work at all lah. I was physically at work, but my soul was at CHIJMES. OMG, counting down every minute to lunch time made time passed even slower.
After gobbling down my lunch, I rushed all the way to CHIJMES to meet Dajie, Snail, Shui Mu Mu and JQ, only to find that the casts were still having lunch when I reached. =.= After much anticipating, I FINALLY SAW SAMY WHO CAME THROUGH THE SIDE DOOR! Wah, pretty pretty bride and I heard she was in slippers again?! Haha… I’m waiting for her PJs wedding.
She was seated quite far away from us, making-up and preparing for her scene. Woots, she looked in our direction a few times. There was once I popped my head out and just nice she was staring at our direction, so I pointed at her and quickly hid away. So paisey…
Then, Elvin walked to the back to put on his make-up, and I stared at him throughout. After finishing his make-up, he noticed me staring at him. Wah, uber paisey until I gave him an awkward smile, quickly looked away and turned back to the front. T_T
Throughout that 20 minutes or so, only caught a glimpse of Samy a few times, before I had to rush back to office. Before going off, saw Kite and her friends who were loitering outside but didn’t dare to enter. After ‘coaxing’ them to enter, it was already 2pm! Wooo…rush back even crazier than how I rushed to CHIJMES - climbed that freakin’ crazy 8 flights of stairs back to office, so I was 15 minutes late. Took me another 10 minutes to settle myself down. Phew~
After that, it was counting down to end of work again. Such a looong wait. Finally when it was 6.30pm, I called Dajie, who told me that the filming had ended! Okay, no more rushing…
If I say I’m not disappoint, I must be lying lah. Yes, a little disappointed, but it doesn’t really affect my good mood today, because there’re more things to be happy about!
Was told that results for last semester was released once I reached office this morning. Seriously scared me to bits man… I was actually prepared to fail Realtime 3D, because I did 80% of the assignment 1 week before deadline (when we were given a long 15 weeks to work on it), and I think the process was quite shitty too.
Surprise surprise!!! I passed all of them! Wheee! I know one of the tutors, who continued to make life difficult for us even after re-doing our presentation, mian qiang-ly passed me for ADHIST. But still, thank goodness, I PASSED ALL MODULES! It isn’t a dream. Huge sigh of relief…I can’t ask for anything more. This is the main thing which explains why I’m in such good mood today.
Okay, then my spirits were a little dampened when I was told to prepare to work OT tomorrow. But then…yes, the story doesn’t finish here. When I reached home and went online, Samy lifted my spirits A LOT.
Was told by the others who stayed till the end of the filming that Samy actually asked where I was. Then Snail told her that I changed specs, she was really LOL-ing and said she wouldn’t recognise me without that “cutest specs”. =.=
“And where was Bee and her specs today?”
You miss that specs a lot? It’s displayed in museum already!
Thanks Samy. You made my day. =D
Haven’t touch my cam for three weeks, I think it would have continue rotting in the dry cabinet if I didn’t take it out today.
Some pictures of the wedding lunch earlier on.

Woots! This week passed quite fast and it was rather fun at work too. One of the colleagues tried to bust me when gambling online, so I accused her of bullying me. Guess what she replied: “Interns are meant to be bullied.” Oh well… =.=
2 weeks down, 10 more to go! Ahhh! I miss school! First time I said this, eh?
